Tyler shrugged slightly, almost in a gesture for her to get her hand off his shoulder. He was feeling tetchy after being interrupted from his little game (was it really a game?) and he especially wasn’t in the mood for being all touchy feely with Cass. She was going on her oh so important date tomorrow, anyway. Wouldn’t want to screw it up now, would she? Leaning forwards so he rested his forearms on the table, he glanced up at Ciaran. He was blushing and looking incredibly uncomfortable in his own skin. Tyler couldn’t help but smile faintly at how bloody cute he looked- quickly Tyler cut that train of thought short. What the hell was he doing, thinking things like that?! He was. Not. Gay. It was all a game, remember?
For a second he forgot all about his irritation towards Cass as her feet found their way onto his lap. “Me scheme? Never,” he laughed haughtily, leaning over to suck the cream and toffee off of the spoon that had been offered to him. Taking one arm off the table, he put his hand on her smooth leg and rubbed his fingers against the soft skin in the same way he’d been caressing Ciaran’s hand only moments before. Talk about changeable. Glancing up at Ciaran again, he could have sworn he saw a spark of jealousy in the younger boy’s eyes. Could he...? No, that was ridiculous. He was obviously jealous of him for getting most of Cass’ attention. Either that or he’d really wanted some cream. Grinning cheekily, Tyler stuck his finger in Cass’ coffee and scooped up a bit more cream, and offered it to Ciaran on his finger. “We didn’t forget you, Baby C,” he drawled, the mischievous expression still on his face.

Fidgeting again in the plastic chair, Ciaran tilted the plastic bottle upwards and swallowed the rest of his drink. Great, now he had nothing to occupy himself with. He placed his hands on the table, one still clutching the bottle and glanced between Cassie and Tyler. Seriously he’d never felt uncomfortable around the two when they did this, you know, became more than just friendly around each other, he’d grown to get used to it. But for some strange reason, maybe might being that for the last few minutes he’d had Tyler’s leg practically entwined with his and had been holding his hand, but he decided to tell himself that wasn’t the reason for this sudden change in mind at all, no, he’d forget that.
“Err” He said, blinking stupidly, seemingly having just missed something. Oh no he hadn’t, he just was too distracted in his own thoughts again. He shook his head slightly and managed a small laugh again as Tyler spoke and dipped his finger into Cass’ coffee. After hesitating, for one second actually deliberating whether or not to accept the offer, and pushing his fringe out of his face he muttered a “I’m fine…” and dismissed Ty’s finger with a short wave of his hand, but for some reason not wanting to dismiss it. Kicking himself mentally he fiddled with the label on the pepsi bottle. “I’m going to get an apple… banana or something” He decided, pushing himself up from the table and heading over to the fruit counter, stuffing one hand in the pocket of his jeans for some reason still feeling incredibly nervous.

Cassie sighed, closing her eyes as Tyler began to gently rub her leg. It felt... wonderful. She couldn't imagine her world without Ty in it, without the little things he did, like playing with her hair, or wrapping an arm around her waist when he snuck up on her from behind, that made her feel so inexplicably happy, so at ease. There was no denying her best friend was a jackass, but he was also incredible.
Opening her eyes, Cassie laughed softly as Ciaran refused the offered cream and smiled serenely at him. "Tyler, don't mess with the poor boy's head, honey. You know he doesn't like the idea of sucking your finger... or any other part of your body." she giggled, waiting until Ciaran had departed before leaning in and eating the cream herself. "you're not as gorgeous as you think, sweetcheeks" Cassie teased, and slid her legs gracefully off Tyler's lap to put her feet instead on the floor. It half killed her to do it, of course- the girl would have loved nothing more than to let him continue his petting, but she knew Tyler well enough to know that it wouldn't take long for his hand to creep up her thigh... she wasn't quite sure how the third member of their little trio would react if he came back over to find that. When Ciaran declined his finger sucking offer, Tyler looked a little put out, maybe even a bit upset. Glancing over at Cass and continuing to rub her leg, he grinned his trademark roguish grin. “I ain’t messin’ with his head, baby cakes, I was just being friendly!” Tyler protested, and then laughed when he heard the rest of her sentence, “I wasn’t offering any other part of my body but don’t give me any ideas, for his sake.” He winked and fidgeted into a more comfortable, slouched position in his chair when Cass licked the cream off his finger. Tyler grumbled something about wanting that bit too, and swiftly stole a bit more and stuck his finger in his mouth as fast as possible in case she took that bit as well.
Frowning, his gaze followed Ciaran getting up and going over to where there was a basket of fruit for a little too long, before he returned his attention to Cass again. “Hey, shut the fuck up woman. I’m fucking beautiful,” he laughed, obviously saying it all in jest. He did a head toss that would make any shampoo advert actress jealous, and flashed his ‘I’m too sexy for my clothes’ look in Cass’ direction. This seemed to cause her to return her feet to the ground. Grumbling in irritation, he lent down and stroked her leg again, making puppy dog eyes at her.

The sight of Tyler's supposedly cute "puppy dog" eyes had Cassie spluttering with laughter, but once she'd stopped giggling, she caved anyway, and put her legs back into his lap. "There, miss United Kingdom, calm down. You know the camera loves you, baby." she grinned, sliding lower in her chair as she took a few more sips of her piping-hot drink.
Cassie's gaze wandered around the room, and her eyes fell on Ciaran. He'd been studying the fruit basket for an abnormally long time. Frowning, she turned back to Ty. "What's gotten into our poor baby?" she asked. "He seems spooked, or something... I hope you didn't have something to do with it, Ty." Cass laughed, but she couldn't help wondering, even as she joked. When she arrived, they'd been holding hands, with their legs all intertwined beneath the table. It kind of made her suspicious. Was something going on between the two of them? Cassie really hoped not. She was pretty sure any romantic stuff in their group- real romantic stuff, not just fooling around like she and Tyler did, would make things awkward, to say the least. [/blockquote]

Tyler laughed too, even though he wanted to pretend to be offended that she was laughing at his puppy eyes. And besides, they were rewarded with the return of Cass’ legs to his lap. Leaning forwards he grinned and rested his head on her shoulder in a goofy manner, nuzzling his forehead against her neck. “Everyone loves me, duh,” he corrected her, still grinning stupidly. His gaze followed hers to where Ciaran was still standing and his grin faded. He’d been standing there all by himself for an awfully long time...Tyler shrugged when she asked what was up with Ciaran, chewing on his lip slightly nervously. “D’no. He’s been like that all day,” he lied, although rather convincingly. The way she asked the question reassured him that she wasn’t onto his little game. A placid expression returned to his face as he rested his hand on her leg once more. Wondering if Ciaran was okay, he glanced back again but it didn’t really give him any insight into how the younger boy was feeling so he returned his attention to Cass. “Excited about tomorrow?” he asked, trying to sound interested. If he was gonna throw her off his spy scent, he’d have to try and lull her into a false sense of security.

Ciaran blinked stupidly at the green apple he’d been staring at for ages now, and picked it up quickly in his left hand. Walking down to the counter at the end of the isle he scooped up another bottle of diet pepsi and paused at the checkout to pay. After fiddling around for ages in his pockets for the correct amount of change, and then deciding he didn’t have it, he gave the dinner lady a note, which she didn’t look to pleased about. Well, if they were going to have different nationalities here, they should be trained to use a different currency, that’s what Ciaran thought.
The older women shoved his handful of change back to him and he used his hand as a bowel whilst with the other attempted to hold both his drink and apple without dropping them. He glanced over at Tyler and Cass as he slowly walked back to the table, the legs were still in Tyler’s lap, but C stopped that thought there, why was he bothering to notice, why was he all of a sudden caring. The change was thrown onto the table, thankfully not running of the surface and onto the floor, and Ciaran plonked himself back in his original chair, looking up nervously again, not wanting to say anything and bit into his apple. He'd just caught the last part of the conversation, he guessed they were talking about Cassie's date with Jared at the beach.

Cassandra frowned. Why all the sudden interest in her date? And since when did Tyler care? He hadn't even wanted her to go out with Jared in the first place- it was crazy to think that he suddenly wanted to know how she felt about it. Shrugging, she decided to answer him anyway. "Yeah, it should be pretty great. I mean, Jared's a nice guy, and he's really cute too." she smiled, before taking a deep gulp of coffee. "Why? I thought you hated the idea?"
She looked up to see Ciaran walking back over and smiled at him warmly, before turning back to Tyler and kissing his cheek. "It's sweet of you to act interested, even though it's clearly fake..." she said, smirking. She couldn't be bothered to be suspicious right now, even though she was sure her best friend was up to something; at this moment in time, she was just too happy to care. [/size]
